Hrvatsko pagvaško društvo, ogranak Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs (https://pugwash.org/) u suradnji sa Svjetskom akademijom umjetnosti i znanosti (http://www.worldacademy.org/), organizira konferenciju pod nazivom ‘Security, Science and Peace Conference’ koja će se održati 12.-13. studenoga 2021. godine. Radni jezik je engleski, a konferencija će zbog epidemiološke situacije biti u online formatu. Konferencija je pod visokim pokroviteljstvom predsjednika Republike Hrvatske, a dio je platforme Konferencija o budućnosti Europe.
Hrvatsko pagvaško društvo utemeljio je akademik Ivan Supek, a novoizabrani predsjednik je Zvonimir Šikić, potpredsjednica Ana Jerković te tajnik Natalija Ryznar. Počasni predsjednik i član Međunarodnog savjeta Pugwasha je akademik Ivo Šlaus.
Međunarodna organizacija Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs je dobila Nobelovu nagradu za mir 1995. godine za svoje napore vezane uz nuklearno razoružanje, a danas se bavi analizom suvremenih hibridnih prijetnji, povezivanjem znanosti s donositeljima odluka, poticanjem akademskoga dijaloga i odgovornog globalnog upravljanja, sprječavanjem konflikata i zlouporabe znanosti i tehnologije te drugim aktivnostima.

countries to exchange their views and thoughts in this area.
